good evening and welcome to the VC is annual Awards night my name is Michelle Reed and I serve as the principal of Visalia Charter independent study it is an honor to be here this evening recognizing all of the students in tonight first of all I would like to thank the entire bcis staff for their dedication to the school and the students they are the core reason why DC is is such a great school for the students of our communities I would also like to thank you the families for your continued effort to support your student through high school and Beyond this evening we will be honoring our student Achievement Award recipients it is important for us as Educators and families to recognize the hard work of each one of these and we celebrate that tonight Stephanie has been a joy to work with an integrated math 3 this year despite the challenges of learning through Zoom Sebring positive attitude and enthusiasm to class meeting expectations on assignment and is always willing to ask questions I hope that she continues to study masks in the future NADA has been zooming into me weekly for help in answering her u.s. history B homework questions NADA is a delight to tutor she listens well and asks questions about concept she doesn't understand Anna is a remarkable young woman because my mother in high school is not an easy thing yet she has managed to make it her driving force everything she does is to be successful for her family and a role model for her daughter is currently enrolled in the medical assistant program the tremendous commitment but I know that she will accomplish all of her goals the list that you have definitely made the most of this year with the huge smile on you you are determined always striving to do better and use a ton of grit in the process I am proud of you and hope that you continue this journey with that same determination which means I can't wait to see what your future holds candy Galatians on your ward Martha not only worked very diligently this year to earn A's and B's in all of her coursework if he did so while sacrificing for her family and caring for her younger brother she is also the first person in her family to graduate from high school and I know she is going to be successful in life I am so proud of her Mackenzie is an outstanding student and person great work ethic kindness and passion has had a positive impact on her classmates McKenna is determined and will graduate with one year of college I'm excited to continue her education in the medical field to become a nurse practitioner going to be a great addition to the medical field congratulations McKenna Emma started school with VCA cast in August as a brand new mom Ashley adapted to life in a pandemic with a newborn she completed all school work with high grades Emma has shown herself to be responsible reliable and dependable a career in nursing and began taking prerequisites this semester in order to get ahead Zoe kitchen amazing commitment to her learning she's hardworking kind and has a positive atom so he's attentive in class contribute to class discussions Ali is an excellent student she is such a pleasure and a joy to have in class Ali always comes on time prepared and ready to sing is easy to see Allie has a love as well as a great talent for music Jordan has worked hard to overcome many obstacles while I have had him as a student and so proud of what he has accomplished academically and personally I know he will do well after high school because he has Britain determined Elizabeth is an excellent medical billing and coding student she is leader in the classroom she is a critical thinker I'm honored to present this award to collect cream she is the kind of student every teacher wants her core values of working hard integrity and positive thinking are evident in every interaction with her she came to us this call as a junior and is completed all credits needed to be able to graduate this June with A's and B's she is an amazing young lady and well deserving of this award of all of the students I've had the joy of teaching at BC is Gisele is by far at the top of the list her work is always excellent on time and far exceeds expectations is L is a self. acted kind patient and responsible young lady and I have so appreciated those qualities in her more than ever do the challenges of this past year I am so proud of you Giselle candy adulation well-deserved incredibly hard worker with all the challenges chemistry has had over the Year Caitlyn the test attitude through it all Anna Tucson is one of the most dedicated and hard-working students I have ever had the pleasure to know this was our first year working together and she Define all on there was no sophomore slump with her this fall semester at BC is she completed 56 + credits with a 93% grade or higher only six of those credits were elected classes and the room 50 credits for core classes and remember her name lazy Doman she is one of the great one Rogue one is quite simple the best students I've ever had the pleasure of teaching she's a hard worker courteous funny self-determined I could go on and on about ruin but to put it simply she is my student of the year for 2020 2021 congratulations real one is an ounce kind thoughtful responsible and hardworking she has consistently put in extra time and effort and each of her courses by attending additional tutoring sessions and core lab and its persevered through some challenging semesters I have had the privilege of watching Laura Blackman tween more comfy did I am young woman and have no doubt if she will go on to do wonderful things in the world it has been a true pleasure to have Cameron as my student the past 2 years she is incredibly motivated responsible ethical right and detail-oriented her compassionate caring nature will surely serve her well in her future career in the medical field I'm so very proud of her and look forward to seeing all of her future success way to go Cameron it is my great pleasure to recommend Esmeralda Gomez for this award Esmeralda is a hard-working energetic organized and honest person and I have no doubt that she will experience great success in her future she is medical assistant program and has completed dual enrollment classes at College of Sequoias last year as an 11th grader she completed our Stephen a probe Esmeralda always takes initiative to go beyond the expectations of her job her work is completed with the utmost quality despite being so busy she has standing time management skills and she never fails to turn her work in on time Esmeralda is a quick learner and does not hesitate to expand her knowledge often diving deeper into the curriculum then what is assigned I will miss esme's kind heart and hard-working Spirit when she graduates I've been privileged to work with Jeremy for years as a member of contemporary music performance and guitar performance classes one of the pleasures of teaching is witnessing the growth of a young person over time and I've seen Jeremy evolve in many areas have a student as a musician as an artist and as a young man I'm proud of Jeremy and his journey I'm a fan of his art and I'm happy to honor him with this award Kaitlyn Hackney is remarkable as she has chosen to work at such a pace to graduate a year early and yet it goes beyond that she has messes challenge while also taking a concurrent enrollment iOS course as well as classroom courses not required for graduation but rather done so for the pursuit of wanting to learn more I am impressed with the maturity the drive with kindness the responsibility the respect in the air pretty she possesses she has never missed or rescheduled a meeting and she comes for pair to each one not just having the work completed but eager to engage in conversation and grow in understanding Caitlin is ready for whatever conser way and I am grateful for the gift of being her teacher Alec has worked very hard these last two years he always goes over and above with his homework take pride in his work I have enjoyed having him and know that whatever he chooses to do he will do it successfully congratulations Alex I am proud of you has a great sense of humor and is wonderfully. He is a hard worker and keeps me on my toes during class with his questions I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know due to this year and he's not only learned so much from his inquisitiveness what is also helped me my knowledge of biology with the great questions yeah Haley is an outstanding student and it has been my privilege to be her supervising teacher this year despite the Heartbreak of missed opportunities for on-campus High School experiences she's felt this past year Haley has approached her independent study work with a positive attitude and has continued to be a self-motivated students maintaining Straight A's while also holding a job I look forward to our meeting each week and I'm proud of her accomplishments and progress I'm excited and honored to give this award to Anneliese Hernandez annalise's always willing to put forth the effort to produce quality work at school and Beyond she is respectful responsible kind self-motivated and doesn't shy away from a challenge but instead she equips herself as best she can to obtain whatever goes she is said it is an absolute pleasure to meet with Annalise each week and I have no doubts that all of these qualities will help her to succeed in whatever she does in her future Mia has grown so much since coming to BC is her junior year she has grown and maturity and and her love for learning I have the incredible privilege to give her confidence grow as a student as a person and as an artist she truly has transformed these last two years and I couldn't be prouder Jillian is an exemplary student and is very motivated to achieve success in all areas she is currently enrolled in our CNA program receiving aid in book class I am very proud of her and her accomplishments of dcis Mariah sets her standards high and is a motivated and accomplished young lady she puts forth only her very best and has a self discipline that is to be admired Mariah is a joy to know and to work with she treats others graciously and kindly and has a genuine personality way to go Mariah Cheyenne is one of the most hard-working students I have known in my 22 year teaching career she continues to hold a 4.0 GPA even during the school's shutdown is an all-around deposit student who's also artistic a 4.0 math student and strives to enroll in the VC is pharmacy tech program next year during her senior year keep up the amazing work Cheyenne I am so proud of you Angela does an excellent medical assistant student she is personable and empathetic for time management skills are impressive Robert has spent his whole High School career BJs and he made a notable contribution to be CIS during his time here Robert participated in the culinary program ASB in School site Council while he was enrolled at BC he worked hard to get ahead and graduate early and was always on time to his teacher meeting Robert smiling face and warm greetings were always fun to see around campus that he will be missed keep up the hard work Robert Jeremy started his journey with us here Avicii is his freshman year and it was a little Rocky and he was unfortunately dropped he came back to us as senior year and he has done a fantastic job getting himself a contract he's consistently met his hours week after week he's can recently completed more than enough hours of work each week and even graduated early with us I'm so proud of all of his hard work and what he has accomplished congratulations Jeremy that's has blown me away during her time at least she is she went from a struggling student to a 4.0 student Lizbeth applied to six colleges and got accepted to all six Lizbeth I am so proud of all of your accomplishments and so incredibly proud to be your teacher you are amazing I'm at Keaton in the fall of 2020 and guitar Explorations a he proved to be a quick learner and an exempt a student in the semester near the top of the class now in the second semester of the guitar pathway at BC is Keaton continues to excel is the exhibit strong study skills and musical Talent I'm proud to know Keaton and look forward to working him in the future luckily it has been a pleasure having you in Spanish class pull up last year for Spanish 1 and this year for Spanish to I appreciate that you are open one of only a handful of students are there cameras on during class and that you always look for opportunities to participate for believe you are definitely a leader in our class thank you for all the work you do Emily's hard work and dedication allows her to maintain the highest level of quality on all assignments and assessment she is truly exceptional Jerusalem is all around amazing she began VC is in the middle of her junior year and earned almost all straight A's through to her graduation she worked hard through quarantine and managed to grow wait 3 months early Jerusalem has a great personality and we shared many laughs throws Zoom meeting Jerusalem with your continued work ethic and strong faith you will go far in life continue to set high goals for you self and crush them Priya has been such an integral part of the dance program at VC is since her freshman year. She's also been my right-hand girl from most of the time she works so hard always has a smile on her face and encourages others and demonstrates all the stuff I can no longer do she's a pure joy and I'm going to miss her so much to the true beam of sunlight to all around her. so proud of you congratulations on graduating Savannah is a kind courteous hardworking student who always shows up towards do meetings on time ready to go engine assignments fully completed to the best of her ability she doesn't make any excuses she's a joy to have as a student at peace gif I want to continuously spell academically she routinely takes two to three college courses simultaneously with her academic courses here at vcas each semester she has maintained a 4.27 GPA I'll have the certificate in my tire and I have no doubt she will meet and exceed all goals that for herself congratulations Ella Brianna here I'm so proud of you and all that I thought you put in every assignment this year in English all your responses are so thoughtful and so complete I really appreciate how you stay after class to get extra help and you always make sure to put in the extra effort it takes to produce your best work you have been a joy to have in my class this year congratulations and I is a great student that works hard every week empty all of her work she is currently earning all A's and is a pleasure to work with a nice future is very bright and I'm excited to continue to watch her grow Jasmine is a treasure she is sweet Smiley grateful conscientious and a real go-getter I look forward to our meetings and will miss her tremendously when she graduates I know she will continue to wow the world no matter what she chooses to do ICL is a hard worker and he takes pride in his work he had to overcome some difficult situations and he has a heart of gold I enjoyed getting to know him better this semester left it has been so need to witness how you have grown into a confident young lady over these past four years you are not only organized and goal-oriented but you are thoughtful and genuine I'm so excited to see what the future holds for you best wishes Jimmy has been such a great student she has work so hard to graduate nearly a semester early I am so proud of all accomplished in this last year congratulations and best wishes to a welcome future destiny I wonder if such a hard worker and always has a beautiful smile on her face every week her classroom teachers have commented on her sweet and respectful disposition she's definitely a ray of sunshine during this difficult time of distance learning dudakov it Sabrina has such a great attitude and is such an amazing student she shows up to every teacher meeting with everything done exceptionally well and she always has a huge smile on her face Sabrina's personality makes such a joy to have her I look forward to our meeting each week keep up the excellent work Sabrina it has been a pleasure having Kevin in my pharmacy technician Faust he is kind caring and always the first he is selfless and that he takes care of his three younger siblings all while managing a full school work schedule with this medication and kind heart to future is bright keep up the great work heaven Carly is an exceptional student who not only have the passion for acting but has a true natural understanding of The Craft she always shows up to class with a positive attitude and a smile on her face students like her remind me why I love my job Priscilla Tafoya is responsible and respectful student the amount of effort she puts into her work is incredible she will graduate with nearly a 4.0 GPA and is ranked in the top 1% of her class I have no doubt that was continued hard work Priscilla will be successful in all that she chooses to do in life gratulations Priscilla Bella is so talented and always comes to class with a joyful smile on her face she can light up the room or scream Was Heard free spirit and positive attitude in addition to being such a bright light to those around her she's an amazing dancer who continues to just trust me and go with what I say and her Improvement has been so because of that she's going to go so far after talent in life and I'm so proud of you Bella Jamie is an outstanding student in pre-calculus this year she always puts in a lot of time and effort to make sure that she understanding difficult Concepts and ask great questions I wish her the best of luck in your future studies I meant Molly in the fall of 2020 in Guitar Explorations a the beginning guitar course of our guitar pathway at BC is she proved to be a quick learner and an exemplary student ending the semester at the top of the class for the spring semester accepted the challenge of joining guitar performance be skipping ahead 2 semesters of our guitar pathway not only has she met this challenge Molly currently maintains a perfect score in the class I'm honored to know Molly as a student and as an imp Steve Young person destined for a bright future he has such a wonderful approach to school and learning she calmly tackles each task set before her with confidence she has exceeded our goals of credit completion during each semester end of the software has already started taking classes through cos this year she continued her foreign language learning at cos by taking American Sign Language it's been a real joy to work with Katie this year Joey is a ray of sunshine that brightens up anyone's day not only is she a positive person but she strong work ethic that does not go unnoticed by any of the teachers that she has that have the utmost pleasure in working with her I am so proud of who she is both within her academics and who she is as a person she's made me a better teacher and a better person for knowing her I will truly miss working with her next year Chloe you are going to go far and places please keep in touch with me I look forward to seeing what you can do Garrett it has been a pleasure having you in class this year I appreciate how participative you are in class even though you are learning Spanish you are willing to take that risk I'm participating in front of your peers this so need to see the different connections you make the material you are learning keep up the great work I chose Nolan Williams for a student Chief and award because of his academic success as well as his character I can always count on known to be prepared and on time to our teacher meeting not only is Nolan excelling in his class Sherman independent study courses but he is ignorant stream Lee kind and respectful young man well done Nolan again thank you for watching the ceremony and a final congratulations to all of our award recipients have a wonderful evening
