Enrollment is open to any student living in Tulare, Kings, Kern or Fresno County. We are a free public charter school supported by Visalia Unified. VCIS offers 3 enrollment options: the traditional main campus independent study, our online learning, and our virtual learning program (VLP). Please be aware there is a separate application link to our VLP enrollment application. The VLP option is the only option for students in middle school.
How to enroll at VCIS:
Step 1: You may enroll from our website or pick up an application from our office.
Step 2: If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must fill out the application. If you are not the parent, you must bring legal documentation that shows that you have educational rights.
What Happens Once the Paperwork is Turned In?
- Upon receipt of required paperwork, students will be placed on a waiting list. When an opening is available, you will receive a phone call to invite you and your student to an orientation.
- Parent/Guardian AND student will both be required to attend the orientation. Failure to attend may result in losing placement on the waiting list. Charter law does not allow us to give preference or skip anyone to the top of the waiting list.
- It is your responsibility to be sure that the phone numbers we have are accurate and if they change, you must let us know. If we are unable to reach you because of a disconnected phone, we will remove you from the waiting list.
- It is important that you continue to attend your high school until you have attended our orientation.
